Veteran’s Reconnect Equivalency Tables


Military and Veteran Tuition Reduction

Bethel University College of Professional Studies supports the many military service members and veterans by offering a special tuition reduction* to students who are eligible. Eligibility is based, but not limited to, the following criteria:

  1. The service member is using military tuition assistance.
  2. The student/veteran is utilizing veterans’ education benefits.
  3. The student is a spouse or direct dependent of a veteran who received an honorable discharge**.

*Students are required to provide Bethel University College of Professional Studies’ Veterans and  Military Affairs Department with all requested supplementary documentation in order to verify and meet eligibility requirements for the Military & Veteran Tuition Reduction.

**The military tuition reduction is limited to one student per household.

Undergraduate Tuition: $280.00/credit hour         Average Course Cost: $840.00/3 credit hours
Graduate (MSCJ) Tuition: $383.00/credit hour       Average Course Cost: $1,149.00/3 credit hours
Graduate (MBA) Tuition: $460.00/credit hour        Average Course Cost: $1,380.00/3 credit hours

Army TA Application Process

  • Soldiers receiving Tuition Assistance (TA) are required to register for every class through www.goarmyed.com.
  • Please ensure that Bethel University (McKenzie, TN) is listed as your “Home School”

Navy TA Application Process

  • Contact your Navy College Office to receive educational counseling in person, by phone or email.
  • After your request is approved, you MUST send us a copy of the approved TA Authorization form

Marine TA Application Process

Air Force TA Application Process

  • You must apply for Tuition Assistance online using the Air Force Virtual Education Center. This must be done through the Air Force Portal at https://www.my.af.mil/.
  • After your request is approved, you MUST send us a copy of the approved TA Authorization form

Military Tuition Assistance Coverage

  • Military Tuition Assistance (TA) pays $250/semester hour, up to 16 semester hours per fiscal year. TA funds will normally deplete until the October renewal and coverage is limited.
  • It is important to research Financial Aid, GI Bill, and Scholarship options carefully, to ensure the selected benefits will cover course costs.
  • essee Guard/Reservists Only – Residents of TN who are actively drilling or are mobilized may be eligible for additional tuition coverage through the Tennessee STRONG Act. To verify eligibility or to start the process please navigate to www.tn.gov/military/section/education-incentives.

Additional Veteran Funding Opportunities

Helping Heroes Grant Program 

Residents of TN – The Tennessee system of lottery-funded scholarships, as administered by the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC), has provided opportunities for post-secondary education financial assistance.  The grant has a max award of $1000 per semester (full-time) or $500 per semester (part-time) for up to 8 semesters.  For more information and to check eligibility, click here.
