Charles Smith, EdD
Dr. Charles W. Smith earned his EdD from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He also holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) from the Nashville School of Law, where he was awarded the American Juris Award. He completed postgraduate study at the George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University in higher education administration, and earned both his MA and BS degrees from Middle Tennessee State University. He has served as the Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Tennessee in Nashville, Tennessee, and as Associate Dean of Eagle University Consortium at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Prior to entering the legal profession, Dr. Smith served for 10 years as headmaster of Clarksville Academy in Clarksville, Tennessee. He currently serves as a general practice attorney and as Clarksville City Judge.
Dani Babb, PhD, MBA
Dr. Danielle Babb holds a PhD in Organization and Management, and an MBA in Information Technology. She is the founder of The Babb Group, a real estate, teaching, and business consulting firm specializing in education and analysis. Dr. Babb is the Dean for the Andrew Jackson University School of Business, and teaches economics, statistics, business management, and healthcare information technology classes at other universities. She is also a foreclosure and online business professor at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Babb is a faculty member for online and on-ground universities across the nation at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Using her own experience, she teaches others how to make a living online. Dr. Babb is the author of Make Money Teaching Online: How to Land Your First Academic Job, Build Credibility, and Earn a Six-Figure Salary.
Diane Minger, PhD
Diane Minger holds a PhD degree from Texas Woman’s University. She is currently a full-time program coordinator and professor of management and marketing at Cedar Valley College in Dallas, Texas. She also serves as the college Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) director for SACSCOC. As a small business owner and marketing consultant, she specializes in website design and maintenance.
Dorothy Black, PhD
Dr. Dorothy Ann Foulks-Black earned a PhD in business from Capella University. She also holds an MBA from Union University and a BS from Bethel College. Dr. Black’s experience includes work for the Air Force, Army, Navy, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and Internal Revenue Service.
Kim LaFevor, PhD
Kim LaFevor currently teaches both undergraduate and graduate level courses for Bethel College based in McKenzie, Tennessee. These responsibilities include teaching various management courses, as well as course development at both an undergraduate and graduate level. She consults specifically in the areas of leadership development, recruitment and selection, performance management, compensation administration, and labor relations. She is currently president of the Tennessee Employment Relations Research Association, the state labor-management forum for the national organization, Labor Employment Relations Association.
Nassar S. Nassar, PhD
Dr. Nassar S. Nassar earned a PhD in organization and management from Capella University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Dr. Nassar’s business experience includes management and training positions with PepsiCo and the Social Security Administration. He is also a successful entrepreneur. Dr. Nassar, an Associate Professor of Business, joined the Bethel faculty in 2002. Later in 2002, Dr. Nassar was appointed Director of Educational Outreach, where he quadrupled enrollment in three years and currently serves as assistant to the president for strategic initiatives. Dr. Nassar frequently speaks before professional groups including ASTD and chambers of commerce. Dr. Nassar’s research interests include training and development and online education.
Robert Putman, PhD
Robert Putman has taught accounting and business courses for 20 years at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Dr. Putman is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the State of Tennessee and is a member of the Tennessee Society and the American Institute of CPAs and the Tennessee Society of Accounting Educators. He received his BS from Mississippi State University and his MBA and DBA from the University of Memphis. In addition to teaching, he served as mayor of McKenzie, Tennessee, for eight years.
Ron Deming, PhD
Dr. Ron Deming earned a PhD in business from Capella University. He also holds a Master of Arts degree with a double major in management and computer information systems from Webster University in St. Louis. Dr. Deming’s experience includes 21 years of service in the USAF in various roles, in particular district manager and chief information officer at Group Headquarters Air Force Recruiting Service. During his career he received many decorations including the Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf clusters, and the Air Force Achievement Medal. Upon retirement, Dr. Deming returned to West Tennessee to serve as Associate Dean of Information and Technology and Associate Professor of Computer and Information Systems at Bethel College.
Shea Slonaker, PhD
Shea Slonaker currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses for Bethel University. Dr. Slonaker received her PhD from Middle Tennessee State University, and her primary fields are entertainment and labor economics. At Bethel, Dr. Slonaker teaches various classes such as Business, Government and the International Economy; Quantitative Approaches to Managerial Decision Making; Strategic Planning; and Managerial Economics.
Vicky Black, PhD
Vicky Black has four degrees: a BS from Indiana University, an MEd from Wright State University, an MSM master’s degree from Oakland City University and a PhD from Ohio State University and has also completed post doctorate work in international business. She’s been teaching online classes for approximately five years. In addition to her educational preparation, Vicky has a business and industry background and she held a real estate agent’s license, a health and life insurance license as well as a variable annuities license and a Securities Licenses (both 6 and 63 – State and Federal).
